- Medium Roast: This roast creates a non-oily surface. It’s often referred to as the "American Roast" because it’s the one usually preferred in the United States.
- Medium-Dark Roast: This roast creates some oil on the surface & has a little bittersweet aftertaste.
- Dark Roast: This roast has an oily surface & a marked bitterness. The darker the roast, the less acidity will be found in the coffee drink.
